Welcome Captains, Vice-Captains, and other MR posters!
Posting an entry on Dreamwidth can be strange and confusing to those who've never done so before, and you have to properly format your Main Round entry on top of that! But don't worry. Your friendly neighborhood mods are here to help make the process go as smoothly as possible!
How do I post?
To create a post in the Main Round community, first navigate to the bottom of the page and click the icon that looks like an open book with a pencil.
When you hover your mouse over this icon, it should read "Post to this Community".Before you start making your post, make sure these two things are as they should be:
At the top, it should say "Post to:sportsfest2022mr1". If it doesn't, click the dropdown and select the correct community.
You should have the HTML tab selected, not the Rich Text Editor! Dreamwidth's rich text editor is a nightmare but The HTML editor will work exactly like the comment box you've used in the Bonus Rounds.
How do I format?
- Please use the following subject for your main round entry: Team [Name]: [Entry Title]
- For example, Team Kuroko no Basket with a MR entry titled "Wind Beneath Your Wings" should have their subject line as : Team Kuroko no Basket: Wind Beneath Your Wings.
Team name's abbreviations are accepted as long as the team is still obvious! - Members of a Temporary Team for MR can just fill in "Team Grandstand". If you'd like to put the ship/team/character you created an entry for in the subject, put it in parenthesis after.
- Paste the following into the body of your post. Replace everything in parenthesis with the appropriate information:
- Insert your fill.
Code for inserting links: <a href="LINK">your text</a>
Code for inserting images: <img src="LINK" width="600px">
You can host your MR entry in our AO3 Collection. - Submit your post. It will be added to the moderation queue. If everything looks good and follows the rules of Main Round entries, it will be approved and posted when the comment round opens. Otherwise, a mod will contact you so you could make the changes and re-submit it.
Submitted entries cannot be directly edited or sent back to you, so please keep a copy of your entry in case of any problems!
How do I HTML?
Here are a couple formatting tips! Dreamwidth also has a guide linked at the top right of the post page, titled: "HTML examples"
- <b>This is bold text</b> OR <strong>This is bold text</strong> = This is bold text
- <i>This is italic text</i> OR <em>This is italic text</em> = This is italic text
- <u>This is underlined text</u> = This is underlined text
- <a href="URL">this is a link</a> = this is a link
- <user name=sportsfest_mods> =
sportsfest_mods
- For a horizontal line to break up your text : <hr> =
- To post an image, use a link that ends in png, jpg, or jpeg. (For images smaller than 600px, delete width="600px"): <img src="URL" width="600px"> OR <img src="URL">
